So many things going on in my life, some not so good.
I have been working on my art in between the good and bad
stuff, it has been what keeps me sane. LOL
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Here is my most recent Domino Book, I took a class
from Terri Heinz at Artful Affirmations It was so helpful!
She is so creative and a really nice gal! Look on her sidebar for a link
to her wonderful class, it will take you to Creative Workshops.

This domino book is called 'Tea & Cake'
and I made it just for me. I dont think I have ever
made something just for myself......
Maybe I need to do that more often!
It was really fun!
Have a great week!

Quilt Retreat 2013

What a great Quilt Retreat!
When you get 27 women together
all in one room the hum of all those sewing
machines is an amazing sound!  Let me explain!
Our monthly church quilting group, the Kindred Kwilters,
(you dont have to go to our church to be part of the group)
has a 3 day retreat once a year at a different location.
The ladies range in age from 23 to 85 with the love of quilting
in common.  We always do some sort of project together,
and this year everyone made a baby quilt for new moms that attend our church.
We have had a lot of babies born in 2012 and needed to build the stash for 2013.
Here are some of the quilts, starting with a little friendly flower power!

What is a Kindred Soul/Spirit?

Here is the defintion:
Also known as a kindred soul, a kindred spirit is one who shares certain beliefs, values, or interests with another person. For example, if two people say they are kindred spirits, it means they have certain similarities. By the definition of the words that make up the saying, the two people have a likeness that forms a relationship or association between them. Other factors, such as similarities in age and gender, can help make a kindred spirit relationship stronger, but they don’t have to exist for two or more people to be kindred souls. Likewise, a kindred spirit relationship isn’t limited to one between two people, and can exist among larger entities like groups and organizations.

Do you have someone/group of people in your life that fits that description?  Are they your online friends or people you see frequently?  Would you say that person is your spouse or other half?  I have been giving this some serious thought because I think it is really important to have someone in your life that shares that creative side of you. Someone that encourages you to step outside the box, move beyond your normal range of things and is doing the same thing.  Have you done anything crazy creative lately (something you have seen on Pinterest or another blog) and thought, "I would love to do that"?
Because of blogging for 6 years, Flicker, Pinterest, Yahoo Groups, online classes and so many other sources, I have found some Creative Kindered Spirits, some of them I do not know very well but still think -wow I could really hang out with them!
I hope you have found some wonderful friends/group that you feel that way about because it is just so important to your creative soul.
                                                  Have an amazing day!

Altered Tea Cup

This was so fun! This is the first one I ever did.
I bought the tea cup at Goodwill, pulled the spoon from
my collection and wrapped it in pearls.
I plan on doing many more in the future!

Can't believe how time has gotten away from me
again....

Here is an ATC I made for a swap,
It is my Great Grandmother on the day
of her baptism.

This one was made for ArtJoyStuff.blogspot.com
Here my Great Grandmother is showing off
her first family portrait.

Hope all of you are having a
CREATIVE day!
